PRAYER WEBINAR CHALLENGES 730 REGISTRANTS

So grateful to Christianity Today International and Kyria.Com for registering 730 people for my prayer webinar, Tell the Mountain to Move.

In an upbeat, interactive hour, we wrestled with such topics as answered prayer, honesty with God, persistent praying, fervent prayer, spiritual warfare and the essentials of knowing how to pray effectively.

Kyria is a web resource "for thoughtful, influential women who want more from their faith and who want to make a difference in the lives of others." I'm honored to serve as an editorial adviser for Kyria -- and proud to be featured in this month's Kyria digizine cover story on prayer.

HIS ART, MY WORDS

Calligrapher
Timothy Botts

My collaboration with acclaimed calligrapher Timothy Botts, a tribute to African American spirituals, runs through Septemeber 2010 at the Billy Graham Center Museum on the campus of Wheaton College.

The exhibit features 31 original Tim Botts’ renderings of beloved spirituals – including Ezekiel Saw the Wheel, Steal Away, Wade in the Water, Deep River, Give Me Jesus, Go Tell It On the Mountain, Go Down Moses and Every Time I Feel the Spirit.

My task was to write captions for each piece of Tim’s amazing art. If you appreciate gorgeous calligraphy -- and understand the genius and significance of the spirituals -- don’t miss this exhibit. It runs through September 2010.
